About Mallory

My name is Mallory, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

I tend to be a calm, grounded, and steady presence in the room. People often experience me as genuine, sincere, and easy to talk to. I’ve always been an intent listener, and I place a strong emphasis on the relationship we build together in therapy. I show up fully and offer my undivided attention so you feel seen, heard, and understood.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and self-aware—but feel overwhelmed internally or stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand, especially in their relationships. You might notice a strong inner critic, feel responsible for others, or find yourself repeating the same dynamics even when you’re trying to do things differently.

My Approach

I am a person-centered, relational, and trauma-informed therapist.

I enjoy working with people who want to better understand themselves—especially how their family of origin and early experiences have shaped the way they relate to others and to themselves. Together, we slow things down and begin to make sense of patterns that may feel confusing or hard to change.

I believe that with greater understanding and self-compassion, we can begin to experience our emotions and relationships differently. Therapy is not about fixing you or forcing change, but about developing a deeper awareness of your internal world so that change becomes more possible.

In our work, you may begin to:

  • understand your emotional responses more clearly

  • soften the inner critic

  • express your needs more directly

  • develop healthier boundaries

  • feel more grounded in yourself

What It’s Like to Work Together

Our work is collaborative and paced in a way that allows you to feel supported and not rushed.

You don’t need to come in knowing exactly what to say or where to start. Many of my clients are new to therapy—we figure it out together.

Over time, clients often find they feel less reactive in relationships, more clear about what they need, and less hard on themselves.

Background

Before starting my private practice, I spent nearly two decades working as a social worker in a variety of settings.

Much of my work has been with older adults, individuals with disabilities, and family caregivers. I have worked in medical settings including nursing facilities, dialysis centers, and primary care clinics, and have made thousands of home visits supporting vulnerable adults living independently. I have also facilitated support groups, taught educational seminars, and worked as an advocate for children in foster care.

I hold a BA from The Evergreen State College (2008) and a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington (2013), with a concentration in multigenerational work with elders and their families.
